Limited 180gm audiophile vinyl LP pressing. The Highwaymen was a country music super-group composed of four of the genre's biggest artists well known for their pioneering influence on the outlaw country sub-genre: Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson. Whenever you combine the greatest men in their trade, you get genius. The album is an amazing compilation of talent and song writing. These men are legendary country music singers on their own, and when you combine them, you get something special. Highwayman 2 is the second studio album released by them, which reached #4 on the country album chart. The Lee Clayton penned song 'Silver Stallion' was the first single and made the country Top 40. The album was nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Collaboration. Highwayman 2 was produced, once again, by Moman. Six of the songs were written or co-written by members of the group.
