More Info:
Unavailable in the U.S. Reissue of the 1981 sophomore album from the rockabilly trio. With Johnny Burnette's 'Baby Blue Eyes' this album has a killer opening track and is the beginning of over 35 minutes of red hot rockabilly 'n roll. Looking back nowadays on Gonna Ball, it seems like a minor masterpiece and probably the Stray Cats' finest album. The Cats are captured diggin' deep into early rock 'n' roll and even pre-rock 'n' roll roots music and far beyond the boundaries of rockabilly, served the Brian Setzer/Stray Cats way. Supported by various players, including Rolling Stones alumnus Ian Stewart, John Locke (Spirit/Nazareth) and on the saxophone there's New Orleans tenor legend Lee Allen (Fats Domino/Little Richard). The album ends with 'Crazy Mixed Up Kids', a psychobilly instrumental workout par excellence.
