Limited 180 gm vinyl LP repressing includes one bonus track plus digital download. This amazing concert presents the great Oscar Peterson performing in his native country, Canada. A trio composed of piano, guitar and bass has always been a rarity. Trends. Although Peterson, Ellis and Brown had already recorded many dates together as part of larger formations (both as a quartet with different drummers, and as part of groups including winds and singers) dating back to 1952, their first preserved trio set was recorded at Carnegie Hall on September 19, 1953, during a Jazz at the Philharmonic concert. The pianist considered on the Town one of the best recordings of the trio.
