More Info:
This album is essential if you only have one Joey Welz album. It has the highlight of his work as one of the first Rock and Roll's singling, standing Piano Men of Rock and Roll. JOEY made his first ROCKABILLY Recordings in 1955, the Birth of Rock and Roll, as he started Baltinore's first ROCK AND ROLL BAND, the JAY ROCKERS, envolving into the ROCKABILLIES. His early hits were BOPPIN' THE STROLL, THE MYSTERY OF LOVE and SHORE PARTY. He made all the stops along the way as a writer, artist, singer, but most die hard Welz fans love him for his unorthadox style of plaing the piano. IF IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR BILL HALEY IT HAD TO BE GOOD ENOUGH TO LAST. After leaving Bill Haley as his featured pianist, he recorded with great musicians along the way, some of which are highlighted in this album; LINK WRAY and ROY BUCHANAN. He continues to perform with the COMETS and his friend and leader of the COMETS;, AL RAPPA, and plays concerts evey year thoughout europe, especially FRANCE with CAPTAIN JOE AND HIS COMBO. That is why this album says it all. Joey Welz IS STILL ROCKIN'AROUND THE CLOCK, Rock and Roll is safe as long as as he hits the KEYS....Bill Z, VP.
