Bon Jovi's first album of the new millennium after a short hiatus to focus on solo endeavors. In "Crush", the group showed that it was still attuned to what was happening around them and made another important break in their career. Rather than just satisfying their aging 1980s and 1990s fans, Bon Jovi also targeted youth, seeking to renew their fan base and win over people who had never heard of the band. The result was what is possibly the most varied album of his career, but still cohesive, demonstrating that his aptitude for good songwriting remained intact.
