UK retrospective from the California rockers. In the '70s, The Doobie Brothers combined Southern Rock, Pop, Country and Soul into a unique sound that was seldom copied but never duplicated. Led by guitarist and songwriter Tom Johnston, the Doobs managed a very respectable run of hit singles and hot selling albums. When they brought in session musician Michael McDonald on keyboards and vocals at the height of their popularity, the band were untouchable. Taking in all the band's biggest hits such as 'Takin' It to the Streets', 'What a Fool Believes', 'Long Train Running' and 'Listen to the Music', this is an excellent overview of the band's musical output. The album also includes single versions of the biggest hits (including 'Jesus Is Just Alright' and 'It Keeps You Runnin'). 20 tracks. Warner.
